Sitemap and Robots

One of the best things you can do to get the search engines to notice you, is to install a sitemap and robots file on your blog or website.  Now I know that may sound a bit trivial for some and all, but it is really really simple.

First of all, you can get a sitemap very easily from XML-Sitemaps.com.  You simply follow four simple steps on their site and in no time at all, you will have the file you need for your site.  Very simply put: upload that file to your root directory (the place that is the bottom most tier of your website - example: c:/ would be the root of a PC, and so the same would apply to a website or blog, only the root is where the website is being hosted).

Once you have done so, it is a great idea to sign up with Google Webmaster Tools so you can tell Google exactly what you want crawled on your site.  You will be able to designate what to crawl and what not to.  Although some crawling robots out there, ignore the request and crawl everything anyway (usually these are spam search robots). 

SiteMap XML

A sitemap basically tells Google and other search engine crawling robots, what your site looks like in terms of a map.  It says to the crawling spiders what is okay to index and what is not.  It is important to have a sitemap on your site, because even though the internet looks for content all the time, they won’t always know you are there, unless you make an effort to tell them.

Along with a sitemap, it is a good idea to install a robots.txt file so that it can work in conjunction with the sitemap in that it will tell any other crawling search "spider", what to search and what to leave alone.  And although a sitemap and robots file sound the same, they are not.  The sitemap tells the search engines what the landscape looks, like and the robots file tells them what to index and crawl, and what to leave alone.

You can easily get a robots.txt file the same way you got a sitemap from XML-Sitemaps.  Just simply upload this .txt file to your root directory also and you are set to go.  If you want to find a sample robots.txt file to upload to you site, just search robots.txt on the net and you will see a sample come up.  Save it as a txt file and upload it to the root directory.

The internet is so much friendlier to your site or blog when you have these things in place.  You can visit Google Webmaster Tools for more information or XML-Sitemaps too. 

Cash Reserves?

After this economic bail out or rescue (depending on your definition), this economy will soon be returning to the days when cash was king.  There was just too much credit to go around for just about everything from no money down on 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd houses; to RVs, vehicles and boats.  But is it all bad to have less credit in the coming years?  I mean how much does one really need anyway?  More and more people were saving less of their cash, and using more and more of their credit.  Yeah maybe the banks and Wall Street had a lot to do with it by pushing the new money supply lines, but we didn’t exactly turn our heads, hands, and eyes away from it.  We all saw a lot of people going from just one car, to two cars, to a garage full of them.  And then of course, the need for the bigger house to match.  So was it just over-credit supply or just us being what we are: great consumers.  Maybe, but after it’s all said and done: cash will be king again.

And that’s the way it should be.  Home purchasers will be required to come up with a 10 to 20 percent cash down payment, as was the case before.  And with a small exception for FHA, most of the market will respond and adapt to this new cash in the deal requirement.  The days of developers building entire condominium subdivisions will come to an end, as speculative build-outs will require tangible proof that buyers are willing and able to pay or delivering on their purchase intention.  The banks financing the deals will require a size able deposit to ensure that the builder can make good on their use of bank funds.  Of course, with so much supply right now, the market won’t have to worry about demand out stripping supply, for at least 7 years. 

And anyone that assumes that now is the time to buy, because cash reserves are down every where and that this is the ideal time to pick up properties is just fooling themselves.  Simply take a look at the amount of supply in the market and then measure out how long it will take to absorb it all, and then you can estimate how long you would have to hold onto the property(ies) before you would begin to realize a return on investment.  The promoters selling foreclosure as a cash making tool right now, are the only ones that stand to gain (and not by the market, but by the sale of their product).

Cash In The Internet Economy

With things now being tied to the internet age and the new economy, credit tightening will mean that a person has to look for ways of making cash through other sources.  Traditional and otherwise.  The goal should be to establish as many cash flow sources as possible, and to automate as many too.  Fixed income has always been a good source, but with technology changing everything, the need to establish electronically generated income sources is becoming more and more of a priority.  As such, there has never been a more important time to look into internet marketing as a source of extra income. 

Remember that in modern economic models, the attainment of wealth comes from either cash or credit receivables.  Barter is out of the picture and inapplicable in most situations.  Although, you would probably find some people out there easily willing to trade their gas guzzling SUV for a nice economical 4 cylinder.  At some point though, a person has to step away from the traditional ways of making money and has to start looking into other ways of making cash for their own benefit.  Keeping an open mind on ideas and searching for new ways to make cash, can only help their situation, or at the very least, inform them of the possibilities.

Of course all of this doesn’t mean that it’s the end of the world, but maybe what every one should do at a minimum for a change, is to start saving.  I continue to stress that every dollar saved is one dollar earning money, as opposed to one dollar borrowed that carries a monthly interest burden.  Over time, your net wealth decreases with credit dollars anyway, so it is best to focus more on the savings route.  Many millionaires today did it simply by saving their way to wealth, and they would be the first to tell you that the amount of cash you save is directly equivalent to how fast you become king!

More Saving Less Borrowing

Maybe when you reach that point that you no longer need to borrow through credit, you will realize that cash truely is king and that with that goal accomplished, you will no longer need to stretch yourself out as much to do the same with less. 

Cash is king now and it will remain so for the next few years.  Just as the banks and they will tell you that they only wish they could figure out how to convince their customers to make "more" deposits.  Hopefully the new $250,000 FDIC insurance will help move things in that direction, but most people don’t have that much to deposit.

Even with a new President, and a whole new agenda for the nation, it is going to be a very difficult time over the next few years.  But, I strongly feel that the worst of it is all wrapping up within this year and maybe it will partially leak over into the first quarter of 2009.  Overall, things will be tighter, and yes unfortunately, cash will be king.

There is an internet program available called six figure yearly that teaches a would be internet marketer, how to launch a daily income from internet marketing.  I have looked into six figure yearly and I have read its information and find that it is insightful and informative.  Much of what is considered an opportunity on the internet is affiliate marketing or successful blogging.  six figure yearly walks you through the experiences of Michelle Campbell whom is the creator of six figure yearly.

Her attempt, in a simple yet humble way, is to inform you about how internet marketing works.  This is carried about by telling you how she came about getting into internet marketing in the first place, and what brought the idea to mind.  Then, she begins informing you that in order to get into this business, you have to think in a digital manner.  That is to say, she wants you to view your time as valuable and to use technology to do things for you.  Without the mindset to think at this level, in her view, it is unlikely to become a six figure yearly success story.

Throughout six figure yearly, she points out the steps you need to take and of course, what techniques would and would not work if you try them.  Some of the suggestions in six figure yearly are explained well, and some are left with a bit of vagueness.  The vagueness is unavoidable I think because some of the things required to get up and running, are going to take up a lot more time than Michelle would probably want to go into.  For example, in six figure yearly she states that you could setup a website and build your own niche. However, she does little more than give you a link to visit the vendor and then its all up to you to figure out how to setup the rest.

If six figure yearly was able to deliver on its product, it would have to walk a person through about 4 to 6 months of training in order for that person to make their internet marketing efforts a reality. That is not to say that it wouldn’t work, its just that it is going to take a little more time than what is assumed.  For example, the six figure yearly website states that you can make $1,000 to $3,500 a day.  Now while this is possible, it is not giving you the complete picture in that in order to achieve those results, you must learn about proper pay per click (PPC) advertising campaigns and eventually, the need to learn web design and marketing.

So when looking at the possibility of purchasing a program or course like "six figure yearly", you just have to keep in mind that it is a potential entry into the world of internet marketing, but, it will take you through a learning curve like anything else in life.  six figure yearly does a good enough job of rock skipping across much of what it will be like in internet marketing, but it fails at times to go into the details to the level that is sometimes required.  For example, when Michelle discusses the numbers, it is done so across the surface.  There is no quantifiable analysis tool provided that would assist you in crunching those numbers to see how you would perform in the open market.  Some programs give you an ROI calculation tool, but this type of a resource is not included in six figure yearly.

With some limitations, six figure yearly can get your feet wet when you decide to try internet marketing.  And although I have seen some comments online about how six figure yearly doesn’t deliver, that is mostly what I was referring to above. When someone sets the expectation too high or assume that something is like a light switch that you can just turn it on and see tons of money on the table, then that person is probably not being very realistic about themselves or six figure yearly.

It all comes down to what energy you want to invest in the business of internet marketing.  Michelle Campbell can introduce you to internet marketing through six figure yearly, and certain programs can take you further by giving you calculation tools too.  But in the end, if you are committed to getting into this business, you just have to accept that you have to learn the business, learn a bit about web design, and learn a bit about marketing.  six figure yearly and any other tool you use is a great starting point, but you must invest more to get to $3,500 a day.
